DEAN GRENIER (LA / formless) (dj/live hydrid)
special appearance from a established international artist, well celebrated and acknowledged in the past within dubstep realms (in helping bring the sound to the north america), and now moving primarily in techno and ambient modes in his current era. one of the common threads of dean's music is how richly emotive and immediately transportive it can be, no matter the tune or genre. dean has been anticipating this set for us for a long time and is preparing exclusive for the night.
DJEITY (montreal) (live)
very lucky to be able to catch this shooting star while they happen to be on the west coast for an artist residency. check out the documentation of the recent appearance at mutek for a sampling, or maybe go catch their master-class session with chapel sound (also in vancouver, while they are here).
SARA GOLD (live)
a long time presence in the local scene, who has developed a unique identity and treatment with their no-input large-format mixer style. rich, deep and meditative minimal soundscapes from carefully calibrated analog sources.
C130 (vj)
very pleased to see a welcomed return from a great local talent who used to frequent quality bills for a good handful of years in past, for very good reason. always in good care with ian.
and an opening set from curator MICHAEL RED, as per usual

optional personal stereo headphones available (provided by snakes x ladders), with their own volume control and some isolation from outside sound. this helps cater to folks sensitive to sounds of conversations also happening in the space (who are desiring a fully focused sound experience), and also for folks who just want to go deeper. having both headphones on is also a handy non-verbal social cue that helps state that your preference is to listen and not talk right now.
